Before the final bowl selections were announced, Illinois received some early good news.
Michigan State and Mississippi State switched spots in the rankings, and a trickle down effect left the Big Ten Conference with bowl spots for all eight of its bowl-eligible teams.
The Citrus Bowl is now an option for a conference team, Minnesota or Nebraska are favored picks.
Bowl options for the Illini include the Heart of Dallas Bowl or the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit on Dec. 26th.
Illinois' athletic director Mike Thomas and head coach Tim Beckman, along with a few players are scheduled to attend a tentative press conference at 7 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Stadium.
