4-star RB Ke'Shawn Vaughn signs with Illinois ahead of Louisville, West Virginia, Purdue

Mr. Tennessee Football Back of the Year is coming to Champaign

Ke'Shawn Vaughn is headed to Champaign.

The Fighting Illini received the 4-star running back's decision Wednesday alongside his friend and teammate Cameron Watkins, who will join him in Orange and Blue.

The Pearl-Cohn High standout and Nashville resident ran 162 times for 2,031 yards with 33 touchdowns his senior season. That performance earned him Tennessee Titans TSSAA Class AA Mr. Football Back of the Year honors.

Vaughn held the nickname "Red Mamba" during high school because of his running prowess and Pearl-Cohn's colors. Click here for highlights of the new Orange Mamba.

Vaughn made his visit at Illinois over the Jan. 25 weekend.

The 5-foot-10, 205-pounder other interests were Louisville, Purdue and West Virginia.
