What Happened The Last Time These Two Played? And what’s at stake?

They haven’t played each other this season!

The Big Ten Tournament is double-elimination. The Big Ten Championship is Sunday. Selection Monday is the following day for the NCAA Tournament.

To make it to Sunday, the Illini will have to bat the Wolverines, and then beat Penn State twice on Saturday.

Illinois last qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 2019.

Entering the week, D1 Baseball had Illinois as a No. 2 seed in the Lexington Region, with No. 1 overall Kentucky. But Illinois’ loss to Penn State on Wednesday isn’t helping its cause on the bubble, so at least one more win in Omaha would go a long way toward Monday.
