Illinois will be a #GolfSchool for the foreseeable future.
The Illini extended men’s golf head coach Mike Small through 2029 on Monday night, according to the team’s X page.

While the Illini have not won a national championship under Small, there have been few, if any, programs more successful in the country, especially for the disadvantages that Illinois faces (cold weather, Big Ten).
Small, who played his collegiate golf at Illinois, started coaching the Illini in 2000. If 2013, he was inducted into the Illinois Golf Hall of Fame.
Illinois’ next tournament is the Cypress Point Classic at Pebble Beach starting next Monday, Oct. 30.
Small will be 63 when his current contract ends. That will also be his 30th season, so maybe that will be it? Who knows?
#GolfSchool.
