Ayo Dosunmu signs with Excel Sports Management

Ayo is gearing up for the NBA Draft.

Ahead of this summer’s NBA Draft, Ayo Dosunmu is making some money moves.

Excel Sports Management announced via Twitter on Thursday that the former Illinois guard has joined their team. If you’re not familiar with Excel Sports, you’re probably familiar with some of its clients in the NBA already: Kevin Love, Kemba Walker and Blake Griffin, among others.

We had already known Dosunmu was planning to sign with an agent and would not return to Illinois for his senior season.

Dosunmu led one of the greatest turnarounds in the country over the past three years, guiding the Illini from more than 20 losses as a freshman to a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament as a junior (before Illinois bowed out to Loyola Chicago in the Round of 32).

The 2021 Draft is set for July 29. Gary Parrish of CBS Sports has Ayo tabbed as the 16th overall pick in his latest mock draft, which would make him the first Illini since Meyers Leonard in 2012 to be picked.
