The recruiting trail isn’t cooling off just yet.
On Wednesday afternoon, 2022 tight end Owen Anderson gave a verbal commitment to Bret Bielema and his staff via Twitter.

Anderson is a three-star recruit out of the Hun School in Skillman, N.J. and a fringe top-1000 prospect nationally, according to 247Sports.
The 6-foot-5, 235-pounder also held offers from Michigan State, Georgia Tech, Navy and Buffalo among others. The Illini had just offered Anderson a little over a month ago, showing again how impressive Bielema has been in closing the deal on recruits.
You can get a look at Anderson’s tape here:
Anderson joins fellow 2022 pledges Joey Okla, Donovan Leary, Hunter Whitenack, Hank Beatty and Clayton Leonard to give Illinois the 37th best recruiting class so far for next season.
