Not one, but make that TWO Illini named to AP All-American teams.
Shortly after teammate Ayo Dosunmu was chosen to the first team, Kofi Cockburn made the AP All-American Second Team.

Cockburn was selected to the All-Big Ten First Team alongside Dosunmu and has also been named a Sporting News Second Team All-American and Sports Illustrated Third Team.
On Saturday, Cockburn went head-to-head with Big Ten Player of the Year and First Team All-American Luka Garza and scored 26 points and 8 rebounds to send the Illini to the Big Ten Championship.
He’s the only player in the country to average at least 15 points and 9 rebounds while shooting 65% from the field this year and has basically become a double-double machine, notching at least 10+ points and 10+ rebounds 17 times this season.
