Dosunmu was also named the Big Ten Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player on Sunday after the Illini claimed their first conference tournament championship since 2005 over Ohio State.
The Chicago native is the only player in the country over the last 11 years to average 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists a game. He’s also a semifinalist for the Naismith Player of the Year award and led Illinois to the No. 1 seed in the midwest region of the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
The Illini kick off their postseason on Friday at 12:15 p.m. CT on TBS against Drexel.
