In a week that saw 8 of the top 11 teams in the country lose at least once, there was sure to be a lot of shuffling among the nation’s best in this week’s AP Poll.
For the Illini, they check in at No. 4 after wins against Nebraska and Wisconsin and a loss at Michigan State. The top 10 now looks as follows:
- Gonzaga
- Michigan
- Baylor
- Illinois
- Iowa
- West Virginia
- Ohio State
- Alabama
- Houston
- Villanova
The last week of the regular season won’t be an easy one for Illinois. It travels to No. 2 Michigan on Tuesday and to No. 7 Ohio State on Saturday, possibly still without Ayo Dosunmu for those games as he recovers from a “facial injury.”
The Illini have already clinched at least a 2-seed in the Big Ten Tournament and could probably climb as high as No. 2 in the country if they win out against Michigan, Ohio State and the BTT.
