About 40 Illinois Football players began returning to campus Monday

They’re baaaaaaack.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Some of the Illinois Football team is back in Champaign.

According to a news release, about 40 members of the team began returning to campus Monday.

Last month, Director of Athletics Josh Whitman outlined the department’s plan for a safe return to practice, which includes initial and ongoing viral and antibody testing, initial quarantining, contact tracing, and arrangements for extended quarantine. Any student-athletes who test positive for COVID-19 will also be cared for.

No player seems more excited to be back than tight end Luke Ford, who is finally eligible this season.

It’s time to talk about practice.
