A day after head coach Nancy Fahey received a two-year extension, the Illini officially lost their leading scorer from this past season.
Petra Holešínská has announced via her social media pages that she intents to spend next season wearing a different shade of blue, that being North Carolina Tarheel blue.

The Czech Republic native spent four years with Illinois — although her third season was spent entirely on the sidelines due to an injury — and her final year was by far her best.
She led the Illini in scoring, averaging 12.6 points per game while shooting over 41% from behind the three point line.
The sharp-shooting guard earned an all-big ten honorable mention, as well as ranking near the top in history of three pointers made and points scored in an Illini uniform.
She was on pace to graduate in May, but still had a year of eligibility left — and decided to forgo that with different aspirations. She announced her original plans to move on in an emotional message.

She is set to join a Tarheel team that went 16-14 this past season, one of those wins included an 85-60 beat down over Holešínská and the Illini.
