When 6-foot-5, 220-pound wing Chaundee Brown announced last week that he was leaving Wake Forest, he immediately became one of the most pursued players remaining on the transfer market. More than a dozen high-major programs showed interest in the Orlando native.
But Brown has now narrowed his list down to four: Gonzaga, LSU, Iowa State and Illinois.

Brown averaged 12.1 points and 6.5 rebounds in 23 games for the Demon Deacons this past season.
While not an elite offensive player, Brown would add scoring punch after wings Alan Griffin and Tevian Jones transferred out of the program this offseason. He’s also willing to attack the lane and absorb contact.
The coaching staff has brought in plenty of youth — Adam Miller, Coleman Hawkins, Andre Curbelo, and Luke Goode — to prepare for the future. Signing an established high-major talent like Brown would add some veteran experience to what may shape up to be a relatively unproven roster.
The Illini have one more scholarship open for next season, but could have as many as three if Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn stay in the 2020 NBA Draft.

No date yet on when Brown is set to announce his commitment.
