Not that it matters right now, but Illinois is ranked No. 21 in the country.
Last week the Illini were No. 23 in the AP Top 25, so the win over Iowa (and loss to OSU) moved them up two spots. That’s all well and dandy, but now it’s tournament time.
So take it with a grain of salt, but that would also slide the Illini in on the 6-seed line right now, which is pretty good.
But with a double-bye this weekend and a chance to go deep in the Big Ten Tournament, the Illini can easily move up even further.
No. 9 Michigan State, No. 12 Maryland, No. 19 Wisconsin, No. 20 Ohio State and No. 25 Iowa are also ranked this week.
Kansas is still No. 1.
