CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — In a heartbreaking turn of events for seniors at the University of Illinois, there will be no commencement ceremonies this May.

In a mass email from UI system president Tim Killeen, he said the University will look to play virtual ceremonies and mail diplomas to the May 2020 graduates. This is all due to the coronavirus pandemic, which forced the Champaign-Urbana campus to suspend face-to-face instruction for the rest of the semester.
As the University will do, we at TCR will also look for ways to continue to honor the class of 2020, as the college careers of students and student-athletes alike are cut short and without a ceremonial ending.
