After losing its only game in the week, Illinois dropped to 22 in this week’s AP poll.

This makes the fifth consecutive week for the Illini in the top-25, with three more against ranked opponents coming in the next week.

Illinois rode a seven-game Big Ten win streak into Iowa City on Sunday before falling to Maryland at home Friday, extending its losing streak to two.

The Illini welcome Michigan State to State Farm Center on Tuesday night, giving them another opportunity to continue rising in the polls and playing themselves into a top-4 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Big Ten race is sure to get more interesting as the final month of conference play winds down. Ranked matchups against Rutgers, Penn State and Iowa still loom on the horizon.

Will the Illini be ranked higher at this time next week? Let us know!
