Brandon Peters transferred to the Illini in 2019 after spending his first two seasons with the Michigan Wolverines.
Over the past two years at Illinois, Peters has appeared in 16 games, thrown for over 2,000 yards, 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
The 6-foot-5 Indiana native was the catalyst for some of the biggest wins in recent history such as the 2019 upset over Wisconsin and the largest comeback in program history on the road at Michigan State in 2019.
Peters joins offensive linemen Doug Kramer and Vederian Lowe to announce their decision to return for another season.
