The first AP Top-25 Poll of the season is here, and as expected, the Illini are in the top-10.
Illinois checked in at No. 8 in the poll Monday morning. The Illini are the third-highest ranked team in the Big Ten, behind Iowa at No. 5 (who Illinois beat to end last season) and Wisconsin at No. 7 (who Ayo Dosunmu singlehandedly beat in January).
Here’s a look at the rest of the top 10.
FIRST AP POLL
— NCAA March Madness (@marchmadness) November 9, 2020
1. Gonzaga
2. Baylor
3. Villanova
4. Virginia
5. Iowa
6. Kansas
7. Wisconsin
8. Illinois
9. Duke
10. Kentucky
While we don’t have a schedule yet, we do know Illinois will play Duke in the ACC/BIg Ten Challenge, and we believe the Illini will face off against Baylor. Plus meetings with Iowa and Wisconsin, plus other ranked conference foes in Michigan State, Ohio State, Rutgers and Michigan, and this schedule is TOUGH.
Hopefully we get a schedule soon.
