Wright State will no longer participate in next week’s multi-team event in Champaign.

The program made the announcement Friday after having a lack of available student-athletes due to quarantining following coronavirus exposure.

”As we have seen this summer and fall with professional sports and college football, disruption is likely while competing in a pandemic,” said Bob Grant, Wright State Director of Athletics, in a statement. “We must continue to hold the health, safety and wellness of our student-athletes, coaches and staff as our top priority as we navigate through this current athletic landscape.”

Ohio and North Carolina A&T are still planning to show up in Champaign next week.

Illinois is slated to play NCA&T on Wednesday and Ohio on Friday. We’ll see if another team joins them now at the last minute.
