Illinois’ Dec. 12 matchup against Arizona at State Farm Center has been delayed for a year, according to a release from the team.
#Illini Schedule Update:
— Illinois Basketball (@IlliniMBB) October 2, 2020
Illinois and Arizona have mutually agreed to delay the return game of their current series in Champaign until the 2021-22 season (game was previously slated for Dec. 12, 2020).
The date of the new game at State Farm Center is TBD.
The return game was part of a home-and-home that started last year between the two storied programs. Illinois lost last year’s game, but was hoping to relive the magic from the 2005 Elite Eight game at Allstate Arena this December.
We still don’t know much about Illinois’ schedule, but we do know the season is slated to begin Nov. 25.
