Betiku spent one season in Champaign after transferring from USC, recruited by now-former defensive line coach Austin Clark.
His Illini career got off to a roaring start with a career-high 3.5 sacks against UConn in Week 2 — the fifth-most sacks in a single game in Illinois history. He finished All-Big Ten Third Team, as voted by the media, and finished with nine sacks.
Betiku missed four games with injury this year.
