At 2-2 with losses to Eastern Michigan and Nebraska, you probably aren’t going to be ranked. As is the case heading into the bye week for Illinois.

Ohio State sits at No. 6, Wisconsin has climbed to No. 8 after its beatdown against Michigan over the weekend, Penn State is up to No. 14, Iowa now up to No. 15, then it’s No. 17 Michigan State and No. 18 Michigan to round out the top 25 for Big Ten squads.
There won’t be an opportunity for the Illini to rise or fall in these rankings this week with the team on bye. But an extra week to prepare for Minnesota should play in their favor.
