CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — James McCourt kicked off the final non-conference game of the year by drilling a school record 57-yard field goal. Also, good for the longest field goal in the country this year.

The last time Illini to hit a 57-yarder? Dan Beaver against Purdue back in 1975.
McCourt nailed a 53-yard field goal against UCONN last weekend, so it was only a matter of time before he upped his career long.
And if that wasn’t enough, these two field goals make McCourt the only kicker in the nation with two 50+ field goals made.
