Hi! Welcome back to Pulse of Illini Nation!
Note: We can’t use the #IlliniPulse anymore because someone else is using that now and we’re just going to be the bigger person here and just call it Pulse of Illini Nation.
That’s the place where we ask a question, and you answer it!
So, this week, with the Illinois Athletics year starting up, we asked what are the bold predictions you have for 2019-20. Most of you said football and basketball-related things. That’s cool. Here they are.
FOOTBALL IS GOOD!
bowl.

Bowl game! And not one in the new athletic center
— Chuck Gordon (@GTCSMustang24) August 27, 2019
The #Illini will be bowl eligible by November.
— Nathan Williams (@Knox_Illini_2) August 26, 2019
We will give up 46 points or more *fewer* than 6 times, and give up 60+ not at all.

At least three QBs will see meaningful snaps this fall

Nate Hobbs All American

BASKETBALL IS GOOD!
Illinois basketball sweet sixteen trip

Illini Basketball finishes Top 3 in Conference. Not even a Prediction #BookIt..

OTHER THINGS ARE GOOD :/
Volleyball and gymnastics are only teams to make significant postseason appearances. No bowl. No March Madness.

And ya know, this stuff:
Dubs
— Anthony Pasquale (@Ant_Pasquale3) August 26, 2019
I’ll be somewhat less disappointed than I have been since 2011-12.

As a Nebraska fan living in Central Illinois, I have the sense that Illinois football, while not improving a ton in the W/L area, will a) not be boring at all this year; and b) scare the shit out of at least two good teams. Also VB is going to beat either PSU or Neb on the road.

We’ll come back here in May and see what turned out to be true.
