The state of Illinois appears to be a massive priority for the 2020 class.
Oh, yeah, wideouts, too.

Illinois got one who fulfills both checkboxes today, with the commitment of four-star wide receiver Jaden Thompson.
Ranked by 247 as the fifth-best recruit in the state of Illinois, the 6-foot-2, 160-pound Thompson plays at Marist High School. He holds offers from many other Big Ten schools, including Indiana, Iowa and Michigan.
It has been documented how one of the biggest concerns for Rod Smith’s Illini offense this season will be the lack of experienced wideouts, which such a spread, high-speed offense runs on. With a highly touted recruit like Thompson, that’ll help.
Thompson joins Simeon offensive lineman Marcus Harper and Trinity Catholic running back Reggie Love as the Illini’s first three members of the 2020 class.

Thompson visited Illinois in January, and also came for the Illini’s junior day on April 6.
