Blaise Sparks said he was signing at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday morning. Guess he couldn’t wait to be an Illini?
Well, the 6-foot-7, 301 pound offensive tackle is officially just that. Sparks was at one point unranked by 247, but at that size, you just take the chance on him to be good. That’s a big boy.
Sparks committed to Illinois back in late July.

Sparks currently plays at North Fort Myers in Florida and was recruited by offensive line coach Bob McClain. He had offers also from Pittsburgh, Kent State, Temple and others.
He’s joining a growing line that is looking to build some depth with each incoming class. Sparks was the third OL commit in the 2020 class, joining Kevin Tyler and Phifer Griffin.
Watch and enjoy this big man.
