Quinton McCoy signs with Illinois

Another big body for defensive front.

Lots of talent in the trenches on signing day.

Quinton McCoy adds to a big boy class for Illinois, as the Bloomingdale (Florida) High product inked with the Illini in the Early Signing Period.

The 6-foot-2, 260\-pound defensive lineman needs some time in the weight room before making an impact, but the toughness and pass rush ability are there for McCoy to produce in a year or two.

Pop him in at the three technique tackle spot in a couple of years, and he could fit like Jamal Milan, disruptive and impossible to block.

McCoy committed to Illinois back in June.

While not being ranked by any major recruiting sites, McCoy was pursued by Power 5 schools Iowa State and Louisville, with offers from FIU, South Florida, Toledo, Southern Miss, Bowling Green and Georgia Southern.

This is another excellent building block in the trenches, and adds some much needed depth at the position with the most attrition in 2020.
