Three weeks after decommitting from Miami, the Illini pick up a verbal pledge from three-star defensive end Tre’von Riggins.

A 6-foot-4, 220-pound product out of St. Petersburg, Florida, Riggins also held offers from the likes of Arizona State, Florida, Tennessee, and USF among others.
He’s listed by 247Sports as the No. 811 overall recruit in the class of 2020 and No. 70 DT.
Riggins marks the 12th commit for Illinois’ 2020 class and bumps the Illini up to No. 67 in the national recruiting rankings. He’s also high school teammates with fellow 2020 commit Deuce Spann.
