Three-star dual-threat quarterback Gregory Spann committed to Illinois on Friday afternoon, announcing his decision on Twitter.

The Saint Pete native also had offers from schools like Auburn and Central Florida, but likely sees an opening with the Illini after 2020 commit CJ Dixon decommitted earlier in the day.

247 Sports rates Spann as the 25th-best dual-threat QB in the 2020 class. The 6-foot-4, 194-pound QB plays at Lakewood High School.

Check out his highlights here:

Spann visited back in October.

Remember: the Illini still plan to have Brandon Peters, Matt Robinson, Isaiah Williams and Coran Taylor on next year’s team, plus Samari Collier is committed in the class of 2021.
