Illinois continues to reach to the SEC transfer market this offseason for impact players in 2019.
Alabama reserve offensive lineman Richie Petitbon is transferring to Illinois as a graduate transfer, per AL.com on Monday afternoon.
In the article, Petitbon was also considering Oklahoma and Ole Miss. Petitbon is a former four-star recruit, per 247, and was a top-70 prospect nationally in the 2015 class.
Alabama lost to Clemson in the national championship in case you missed it last week.
Petitbon joins tight end Luke Ford as those making the jump from the SEC to Champaign this off-season. Illinois has also notably added AD Miller from Oklahoma and (maybe) Jeff Thomas from Miami.
Petitbon will be blocking for his former high school teammate, Reggie Corbin. The pair went to Gonzaga High School in Washington, D.C. together, and Corbin already seems excited about his newest lineman.

Corbin announced on Saturday that he will return to Illinois for his senior year instead of entering the NFL Draft.
