Illinois had a big week last week, but have fallen short this week with losses to Rutgers and Penn State.
The Illini, now 9-7, are 1-4 in conference play.

Despite an Illini loss, freshman Courtney Joens showed out with 13 points and matched her career-high with three steals. Junior Ali Andrews followed with 10 points.

January 12: Penn State 62, Illinois 48
Illinois had a strong start against the Lady Lions on Saturday, shooting 44 percent from the field to start off.
Alex Wittinger led with a total of 19 points and had 4 total steals.

Junior Brandi Beasley led Illinois with 5 rebounds and added 7 points. Freshman Aerial Scott also put up 10 points.

The Illini only allowed Penn State 25 percent shooting from distance and forced 12 turnovers.

Illinois will return to the State Farm Center on Jan. 17 where it will host Nebraska (7-8) at 7 p.m.
