Iowa State v Oklahoma
Can the Cyclones upset the Sooners again??

Revenge is sweet, and that’s just what the Sooners are looking for after their only regular season loss in 2017 came at the hands of Iowa State in Norman. Quarterback Kyler Murray looks every bit as dangerous as Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield looked a season ago. The Sooners have outscored their first two opponents (UCLA and FAU) 112-35. Iowa State is coming off a loss to in-state rivals Iowa, and the Cyclones struggled a whole lot on offense in that game.

No. 12 LSU @ No. 7 Auburn, 2:30 PM, CBS

The Tigers play the Tigers in an early battle of SEC West opponents. LSU has the win of the season of anybody in the country so far after trouncing the Miami Hurricanes in Week 1 on the road. LSU and Auburn have alternated wins the last four seasons. There will be lots of (unproven) talent on the field come SEC on CBS this Saturday.

This game will take place in TCU’s backyard at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, home of the Dallas Cowboys. The final game of Urban Meyer’s suspension, the Buckeyes haven’t skipped a beat in their opening two games against Oregon State (77-31) and Rutgers (52-3). Similarly, TCU looks to be really good and efficient on offense behind quarterback Shawn Robinson, who can make it happen with his legs and through the air. The last time TCU and Ohio State squared off was way back in 1973, the Buckeyes winning that game 37-3 in Columbus at The ‘Shoe.

No. 22 USC @ Texas, 7:00 PM, FOX

Texas v USC
USC vs Texas pits two of the game’s storied programs against one another

There is not as much hype surrounding this game as their could have been. Texas has sputtered, losing to Maryland and looking unconvincing in a close win versus Tulsa. USC is young — very young — and while losing to a better Stanford team is nothing to hang heads about, this is a game the Trojans — on paper at least — should win. USC won last year’s matchup between these two teams 27-24 in Los Angeles.
