Illinois Volleyball announces 2018 schedule

After a successful 2017 campaign, Illinois Volleyball is looking to be even better in Chris Tamas’ second year in charge of the program. That second year will start in Fort Collins, Colorado, at the Colorado State Tournament on August 24 against UNC-Wilmington.

The Illini are on the road at tournaments during the season’s first there weeks, and the home opener is set for Friday, Sept. 14 against Northern Iowa at 5 p.m in the Illini Classic.

Illinois’ Big Ten slate starts on Sept. 21 against Purdue before traveling to Bloomington to face Indiana. Seven of Illinois’ next nine matches after that are at Huff Hall in Champaign, while six of the final nine matches are on the road.

The NCAA Tournament begins on Nov. 29, and Illinois hopes to be in the National Semifinals at the Target Center in Minnesota on Dec. 13.

The annual Orange and Blue scrimmage is Saturday, Aug. 18 at Huff Hall. Illinois faces defending national champion Nebraska twice this season, as well as one match against National Semifinalist Penn State.
