Roark Falters Heading into All-Star Break; Goldstein Moved to Oakland’s AA Squad

Tanner Roark, P, Washington Nationals

Roark has continued to struggle as he heads into the All-Star break, going 0-3 in his last three starts, through which he gave up a combined 17 earned runs.

His record for the season now sits at 3-12, with a season ERA of 4.87. Despite his struggles on the mound, Roark did manage to triple in his most recent game against the Mets.

Tyler Jay, P, Chattanooga Lookouts (MIN - AA)

In Jay’s last four relief appearances, he has only given up three hits and one earned run over 6.2 innings, lowering his ERA to 3.13. Jay also picked up a win during this stretch against the Birmingham Barons, boosting his record to 2-1 on the season.

Jason Goldstein, C, Midland RockHounds (OAK - AA)

Goldstein was assigned to Oakland’s Double A affiliate, as he continued to impress at the High A level, where he slashed .300/.340/.460 so far this season.

In his first appearance with the RockHounds on Saturday, he went 0-4 with two strikeouts.

Adam Walton, 2B, Visalia Rawhide (ARI - A Adv)

Since our last update, Walton has gone 10-for-30 at the plate with eight RBI.

His slash line now sits at .274/.350/.377.

Pat McInerney, 1B, Carolina Mudcats (MIL A Adv)

McInerney has continued to struggle at the High A level following his promotion in mid-June, having only picked up one hit in his last 20 at-bats. His batting average now rests at .087 for the Mudcats while his slugging percentage is at .109.

Bren Spillane, RF, Billings Mustangs (CIN - Rookie)

Spillane has continued to be fairly consistent for the Reds’ rookie league squad, as hit batting average sits at .246, having gone 6-28 in the past two weeks, driving in four runs over that period.

Doran Turchin, OF, Aberdeen IronBirds (BAL - Short A)

In Turchin’s last seven games, he has had five hits and four RBI in 22 at-bats. His average now sits at .197, while his on-base percentage rests at an even .250.

Joey Gerber, P, Everett AquaSox (SEA - Short A)

Gerber has continued to perform well for the AquaSox, picking up two saves in three save opportunities during his last four appearances, while converting the one blown save into a win.

His ERA now sits at 1.86, having pitched a total of 9.2 innings so far this season.
