— Kyron Cumby (@KyronCumby2) June 21, 2018
Cumby is the sixth member of the class of 2019 — seventh if you count walk-on transfer D’Ante Cox — and is the second player to commit in the class from Texas, Lovie Smith’s home state.
Cumby had other offers from BYU, Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, and San Diego State among others.
Running back is a posistion of need for Illinois with only seven listed running backs on the roster, but only five who are true running backs.
Cumby is smaller in size at 5-foot-7 and 160 pounds, but he shows good vision and an ability to catch the ball out of the backfield.
