Former Illinois Football standout Jihad Ward is heading to Dallas.

The defensive tackle was traded to the Dallas Cowboys from the Oakland Raiders on Saturday afternoon.

Ward spent two years at the Globe Institute of Technology before beginning to attend the University of Illinois in 2014. In two seasons in Champaign, Ward posted 104 tackles, 4.5 sacks and five fumble recoveries.

Drafted in the second round in 2016, Ward only recorded 30 tackles as a rookie. A foot injury last offseason limited him to five games in 2017.
