Illinois picked up its fifth commitment of the 2019 class Thursday afternoon when Bryce Childress announced he plans on following high school teammate Isaiah Williams to Champaign.

Childress and Williams both play at Trinity Catholic High School in St. Louis, the school that current Illinois tight ends coach Cory Patterson was the head coach at before taking the job on Lovie Smith’s staff.

A 5-foot-9, 155-pound wide receiver, Childress is a three-star recruit, according to 247.
He is the fifth member of Illinois’ 2019 class.
Marcus Washington, another Trinity Catholic wideout, tweeted after Childress’ announcement. The Illini have been linked to Washington as well.
