First of all I want to thank God and my mom for always supporting me during the process I also wanna thanks the Illinois stuff for giving me this great opportunity special thanks to Flying Star and Florida Prep I’m blessed to announce that I decided to commit to ILLINOIS pic.twitter.com/GKtgCV147h— Samba Kane (@SambaKanesa) March 9, 2018
Originally a member of the class of 2019, Kane reclassified to 2018. Kane is listed at 7-foot.
Kane played at the Flying Star Academy in Senegal, before spending a year in Colorado, and finally ending his preparatory career in Florida.
Kane is a raw prospect, but one with high upside as a rim protector on defense, which is the biggest area of need for Illinois and Head Coach Brad Underwood. He is long and athletic, and is the type of player that could thrive with the right coaching.
According to 247sports, Kane is a three-star recruit.
