Illinois Baseball has its first ranking of the 2018 season after checking in at No. 25 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Poll.
The Illini are still unranked in the D1Baseball.com Poll and the Baseball America Poll.
Illinois (6-3) hasn’t been ranked since its magical 2015 season that included a school-record 50 wins and a Big Ten-record 27 straight victories.
The Illini swept three teams in Minneapolis this weekend and were named Big Ten-Pac 12 Challenge champions after defeating UCLA, Arizona and Washington. Illinois has won five straight, including wins over three of the last six NCAA Champions (Coastal Carolina, UCLA and Arizona).
