Ever want to enjoy an Illinois sporting event by washing down a cold one? Well, now is your chance.
Illinois Field will sell beer at the Illinois baseball game on May 4 when the Illini host Ohio State.
The beer will be sold as part of the Bleacher Bum BBQ promotion, which also features 500 fans getting free BBQ food.
Beer will be sold down the left field line in an area only open to those who are 21 years of age.
We haven’t seen beer or alcohol sales at the State Farm Center or Memorial Stadium yet, but other schools around the country are cashing in by selling adult beverages during games. Some of those notable schools are Purdue and LSU, which was working to open a beer garden during football games last year.
Maybe this is a sign that there beer may be coming to Illinois football and basketball games in the next few years. But, for now, just enjoy it on one May afternoon when the No. 22 Illini host the Buckeyes.
