Finke, who graduated in December, will be eligible immediately as a graduate transfer.
An interesting landing spot for Finke may be Grand Canyon. Finke’s younger brother, Tim, is signed on to play for the Antelopes next season.
Finke, 21, was limited to 28 games due to a concussion this past season. He averaged a career-high 9.8 points per game, but shot a career-low from three-point range (30.7 percent), which was supposed to be a strong suit of his in first-year head coach Brad Underwood’s offense.
Finke’s frontcourt mate Leron Black announced he will be turning pro earlier this month and freshman point guard Mark Smith announced his transfer on March 5. To make up for the lack of size, Illinois has already got a commitment from Samba Kane, with others still in the picture.
