Illinois guard Trent Frazier was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Frazier’s Illini went 0-2 last week with losses to Wisconsin and Penn State, but the Wellington, Florida, native scored a career-high 32 points against the Badgers.
His 32 points were the most by an Illinois freshman in 24 years.
Frazier averaged 19 points last week on 12-of-31 shooting and 9-of-17 from behind the arc. He made seven three-pointers against Wisconsin.
His outing against Penn State was less of a spectacle, scoring six points and grabbing four rebounds in a 22-point loss to the Nittany Lions.
Frazier received the honor back in December as well. Former Illinois guard Jalen Coleman-Lands is the last player besides Frazier to win the award, taking it on Feb. 29, 2016.
The Illini return to the court to face the Indiana Hoosiers in Bloomington, Indiana, on Wednesday.
