Illinois Volleyball is only a week separated from its loss in the NCAA Final Four, but are already making moves to fill out its roster for next season.
This morning, they announced the addition of sophomore Mica Allison to their roster, a central Illinois native who played for Auburn last season.
Also very excited to welcome back to the Midwest, White Heath native and St. Thomas More alum @micallison1!

Allison started every match for Auburn this season, which went 12-16 (5-13 SEC). With 10.05 assists a set, she ranked fourth in the SEC in that category. Her performance landed her on the SEC All-Freshman team. Allison has also been versatile on the floor, averaging 0.75 kills a set and 1.82 digs a set.
A welcome addition to the Illini roster, Illinois now has some depth at the setter position following the departure of Jordyn Poulter, with three setters on the roster in Allison, Diana Brown and Kylie Bruder.
With the addition of Allison as well as Champaign native middle blocker Rylee Hinton today, Illinois will have five newcomers on the roster this fall:
- Mica Allison, 6-1 setter transfer from Auburn
- Kennedy Collins, 6-3 outside from Zion, IL
- Rylee Hinton, 6-2 middle from Champaign, IL
- Ellie Holzman, 6-2 outside/middle from New Orleans, LA
- Kyla Swanson, 6-4 middle from Wahoo, Nebraska
Coming off of last year’s exciting season, these are some valuable additions to supplement the roster following the losses of Poulter as well as middle blockers Ali Bastianelli and Blayke Hranicka.
