Three-star tight end Griffin Moore officially signed with Illinois during the Early Signing Period on Wednesday.

“I’m so happy going to Illinois. I couldn’t ask for a better situation,” Moore told The Pantagraph back in October. “Even if I had every offer in the country, I would have a hard time saying no to Illinois. I’m very excited to get there.”

Moore was Illinois’ second commit in the class of 2019, announcing his decision via Twitter back in March.

Moore is the 42nd-best recruit in the state of Illinois and the 74th-best tight end recruit in the country, according to 247.

As a high schooler, the 6-foot-5, 240-pound Moore played quarterback at Bloomington, just a couple miles east on I-74. Having the ball in his hands every play the last four years should pay off when he makes the transition to tight end. The coaching staff will likely look to add about ten more pounds to Moore’s frame, but he isn’t too far behind physically.

Moore is one of four Illinois commits from the state of Illinois currently in the 2019 class.
