Illini Pulse: What Would You Sacrifice for a Braggin’ Rights Win?

Illini nation is willing to part ways with quite a bit to keep braggin’ rights over Mizzou

NCAA Basketball: Ohio State at Illinois Quinn Harris-USA TODAY Sports

Illinois hasn’t won many games this season during a tough non-conference schedule, but the difficulty doesn’t figure to ease up during Big Ten play. A single victory this weekend over Mizzou would make what could be a long season slightly more enjoyable, and Illini fans are willing to offer up some interesting sacrifices to ensure a win.

Our own Brandon Birkhead led the pulse off with confidence.

Others offered up some former Illini players who have already been seemingly sacrificed at Brad Underwood’s Illini basketball altar.

Some Illini fans decided that they would do without some classic St. Louis food and beverages. Personally, I can’t see how either would be much of a sacrifice, but to each their own...

More than anything, Illini fans have expressed the same frustration that we’ve seen all year long with the disappointing play on the court and on the football field. I can’t say that I blame any of them, and I think we can all sympathize with the sentiment.

Beating Mizzou would be a bright spot in what has up to now been a fairly miserable athletics season for the revenue sports. Avoiding the sting of defeat at the hands of former Illini commits/players Mark Smith, Jeremiah Tilmon and Javon Pickett would certainly be an added bonus.
