The Grayson, Georgia native is listed as a three-star recruit via 247 and chose the Illini over the Arizona Wildcats.
At 6-foot-3 and 305 pounds, Clark is a behemoth. He's automatically inserted in to the two-deep next season. He will serve as the heir apparent to Doug Kramer at center, Clark’s natural position.
Clark represents an opportunity for Illinois to pick up some solid offensive-line recruits in the coming weeks, with Clark starting the ball rolling.
Inside, he could be a star along the offensive interior. When he latches on, it's nearly impossible to shed him. He's big, but not overweight. He carries his size well and can impact this offense fairly early on. He needs some refinement, but which freshman o-lineman doesn't. This is a nice recruiting win for Lovie and Illinois.
Clark is the 12th commitment to Illinois in the class of 2019, and the first offensive lineman.
