AJ Bush spent two years at Nebraska, redshirting in 2014 and not seeing any game action in 2015.
Now as Illinois’ starting QB as a senior this season, Bush made his return to Lincoln.
And he made a statement.
The Illini’s senior quarterback rushed for three first-half touchdowns Saturday, keeping Illinois within striking distance in the shootout.

Bush finished the first half with 17 rushes for 128 yards.
With Reggie Corbin leaving the game in the second quarter with a right leg injury, the Illini need Bush to keep playing at that high level in the second half if Illinois wants to improve to 5-5.
