Three-star wideout Bryce Childress announced his decommitment from Illinois during the first quarter of the Illini’s game versus Rutgers on Saturday. He made the announcement via Twitter.

Childress, who was a member of Illinois’ 2019 class, attends Trinity Catholic High School in St. Louis—the same school as current Illinois tight ends coach Corey Patterson coached at and 2019 ATL Isaiah Williams. Illinois also made the final four schools for four-star TCHS LB Shammond Cooper this week.
He committed to Illinois on April 26.
Maybe it was Illinois struggling on offense early on or something else, but we wish Childress the best with whatever he chooses.
