Every week The Champaign Room’s Twitter account (@Champaign_Room) asks a question to its followers about their feelings on something, a ‘pulse’ of Illini nation.
It has been a trying year for Illinois football and men’s basketball, and as the losses have piled up, they have come in different ways. This week we asked what way you would rather see your team lose from a fan’s perspective.
Here are some of the best replies.
Strong lead chipped away at while the impending doom seems unlikely yet inevitable.

LEAST favorite is choking the lead away.... I'd rather get blown out So i can get on with my day

Blowout! That way you never get your hopes up and then get disappointed.

Choke away the lead. It goes from "Yes!" to "No!!!!" Complete disappointment. Fake rally/Comp heart breaker, you can at least say, "They showed a lot of heart." Something positive from the loss. Blowout loss allows you to come to terms with loss and move on with your day.

Struggling throughout a game against a bad team at home, seeming to pull away late and then collapsing at the very end. Bonus points if the collapse sends you to an overtime you know you have a 0% chance of winning.

If you’ve paid big money to be at the game, blowout. Otherwise, choke the lead

Hoping for a close one or an upset against a top-tier team and then just getting leveled.

Come back next week for another question, and keep using #IlliniPulse!
