Illinois offensive line will have its hands full with Tyquan Lewis

The Ohio State defensive end is one of the best in the country

Tyquan Lewis is the best defensive linemen in the Big Ten, and one of the best in the country. Ohio State is going to be one of the best defensive teams in 2017, and Lewis will play a huge factor for the Buckeyes.

The 6-foot-4, 265-pound defensive end led Ohio State in tackles for a loss (10.5) and sacks (8) in 2016. He was named the Big Ten’s 2016 Smith-Brown Defensive Linemen of the Year. Despite already graduating, he declined to declare for the NFL Draft, and he will instead return to Columbus and continue to wreak havoc on the Big Ten.

Unlike other modern pass rushers, Lewis prefers to use his strength and technique to get into the backfield, rather than speed and explosiveness. He has a knack for beating offensive linemen with inside moves. He can ruin a play for an offense by himself, and he has ruined the day for many quarterbacks in his Ohio State career.

No team will look forward to playing against Tyquan Lewis and what looks to be another great Ohio State defense. The Illini will have a huge task trying to stop Lewis when they visit the Bucks on Nov. 18th.
