The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will consolidate to a single logo over the next few months, according to a press release.
The University made the announcement official Monday afternoon.

The familiar orange block “I” will be used “throughout campus and in outreach to external audiences,” according to the press release.
The column “I,” used by nonathletics at the University since 1997, will be retired.
The Block I is the primary athletics logo. The shield, or “Victory Badge,” is the secondary mark.
